Setting sun, city sounds, an engagement photography session designed to showcase their new found home is where Jessie and Taylor chose to photograph the
story of their love. They met "the old-fashioned" way, Jessie chides, "at a bar" in St. Louis, where they recently relocated from. They
did not meet until closing time, were able to chat for about 30 minutes and exchange numbers, but their mutual attraction was visible from the get
go. Taylor saved Jessie in his phone as "Jessie Hot", and also was impressed about how enthusiastic and motivated to live a quality life.
Jessie, was impressed at how thoughtful and humorous Taylor was, "and hot, very hot" (her words).
For their first date, Jessie wanted to showcase St. Louis and it was on Christmas Eve. They went to the St. Charles Christmas Festival, had dinner at a festive pub, went ice skating, and drove through the huge Christmas light display in Eureka, MO.
Romare Beardon Park, in Charlotte NC, served as the backdrop for the start of our session. It's right by their condo in Uptown and they frequent this location often.
Sometimes, I like to just step back after I put my clients into a setting. In this case, this lovely park bench at Romare Beardon, was perfect for this and just let them do what comes naturally.
The Charlotte Convention center is also a great place to take photos. The fountains the columns, and the building exterior itself makes for a lot of options. Jessie and Taylor were just hanging out on these steps for this wide angle photo I took.
Charlotte has an abundance of parking decks in the city. This one, is right new my studio and the shadows and lighting were perfect for this dark sultry and very sexy engagement photo.
I was in NYC this past summer and of course if you've ever visited, there are taxi cabs everywhere. I saw this concept in a movie that was filmed in NYC once and thought I would try it here in Charlotte with Jessie and Taylor. I easily convinced this cabbie to park and placed them both right in front. It was getting dark, so I used the cabbie lights and a fill light from my Ray Gun Light and wallah! This is the final photo.
Narrowing down which images to feature for this engagement session was difficult (Teaser - their wedding will be many times more difficult), but this is one of my favorite engagement photos taken at dark in these fountains on the side of the Charlotte Convention center. Taylor and Jessie, were game for anything I asked - love that about them, so getting in the water was par for the course.
What better way to end the engagement photography session than at night, with their new city in the backdrop. Love this final photo from Jessie and Taylor's engagement session at Romare Beardon park, in Charlotte NC
