The Bride and Groom's Farewell: Unique Wedding Exits

Weddings are packed with traditions, from the wedding march, to the father daughter dance, to the bouquet toss. We love capturing the little twists and personal touches each individual bride and groom adds to their wedding day.  One of our favorite wedding traditions to document (I know...I have a lot of favorites) is the newlywed send off.  Long gone are the days of the traditional rice toss!  It is easy to see why couples are opting for unique and non-traditional wedding exists; the images speak volumes!

Wedding guests toss rose petals into the air as the bride and groom make their exit. Britta and Matt say their farewell to their wedding guests as they depart their reception held at Brakefield at Riverwalk.
We genuinely get so excited when we are asked to photograph the bride and groom's exit. Why, you ask?  Truly-there are so many reasons. Of course we love the opportunity to capture fun and creative images, and exits definitely allow for outside of the box photography.  But it is each specific element that enables the creation of such beautiful images that we love.
First and foremost-the feeling, the emotion is so high during these moments.  Everyone from the wedding guests, to the bride and groom, to the vendors (yes, even the vendors) feel the glee and happiness.  It is an essential reason why wedding exit photos are so incredibly powerful.  The emotion is palpable.
Newlyweds embrace and kiss as they exit their wedding venue. Sara and Jon embrace for their goodbye kiss as Mr. and Mrs. as they leave their wedding venue in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
It is also one of the seldom opportunities for us to gather and capture an image of all the wedding guests as a whole.  The crowds of loved ones add the allure and -I'll say it again- the emotion of these types of wedding photos.  It is a chance to look back and see the people dear to your heart all in one image, all with eyes and smiles on you.

And what else - can you guess from this image? Oh, the drama!  The uniqueness and creativity that goes into wedding exits these days makes for such fun and exhilarating photographs. So far you have seen the use of rose petals, fireworks and streamers - all of which allow Deevo and Jessica to play around with their camera settings, adding artistry to the creativity.  It is definitely a chance for our photographers to step away from traditionality (I say that as if these two aren't  constantly pushing the boundaries of photography ) and truly embrace their artistic visions.  And THAT is why the end result produces beautiful, unique and one of a kind images for each and every one of our Fusion bride and grooms.

Trust me, every time you take out your wedding album and thumb through to images of your wedding exit, it is going to take you back to that very moment, back to the way you felt in that special and priceless moment in your life.  So, like I said -  we LOVE photographing wedding exits.  We love taking such a fleeting moment and transforming what would be a fading memory into a beautiful work of art. Ultimately, is a chance for us to collaborate with our brides and grooms to help them create the wedding of their dreams.
