The holidays are the most popular time of the year for marriage engagements, if you haven’t already noticed. In fact, about one-third of marriage proposals take place during the most wonderful time of the year! If you are preparing to pop the question, we have put together a list of the best places to propose in the Queen City.
Located right across from the French Quarter, this park is one of the most unique and aesthetic in the area. With elegant rock fixtures, a light up waterfall and a breathtaking view of the Charlotte skyline, this local attraction makes a great location for just about anything. During the summer often times you can find great local bands playing here, or different types of food festivals-all for free! Autumn and winter also offers great scenery.
What once was a cotton plantation, is now an amazing option for a day outdoors. On over eight hundred acres full of hiking trails, honeybee exhibits, horseback riding and lake access- you will be sure to find a special space for an engagement here. Entrance and parking are free, just pack a lunch and some water! Oh and a little tip, the sunset view down by where you can rent canoes can be quite breath-taking.
If you are up for a more challenging hike and a short road trip, the view from the top of Crowder’s Mountain is well worth it. Personally, I prefer Pinnacles Trail- you will only break a little sweat and the view from up top is amazing.
Visit a Lake Norman beach
What could be better than sun on your face and sand in your toes? Lake Norman can offer some pretty spectacular spots on the waterfront and even better views around sunset. Lake Norman State Park in particular offers over 16 miles of shoreline, making it pretty easy to find a secluded spot to pop the question. Go for a walk on the beach and see where it lands you!
Just a quick drive down 277 will prove to anyone from anywhere that Charlotte has quite an amazing skyline. Anytime of day can validate this, however nighttime seems to brighten up the city into something magical. Charlotte offers an amazing abundance of restaurants, apartment complexes and even parking garages that can offer spectacular views of the nighttime skyline. This option is also perfect if you desire an indoor option, since restaurants like Fahrenheit can offer all of this from inside. Arrange yourself and your soon to be fiancé several stories high and you will soon be gazing upon a spectacular view!
