Latta Plantation Bridal Photography : Portia

bride standing along fence on the farmThose of you whom have ever shot with Fusion Photography know that with Deevo likes to shoot on the fly. Keeping up with his ideas is sometimes difficult because they come right at you all the time. So when Portia approached us about doing her bridal session, and Deevo decided he wanted to shoot at The Historic Latta Plantation, none of us really knew what to expect. Bridal sessions are typically a little more formal than our other sessions. The portraits aim to capture you and all of your beauty at this particular moment in time. Portia was absolutely stunning and game for all of Deevo's wild inclinations, from stealthily trespassing to practically hiking in her not four, but five inch heels. (Which by the way were fabulous and we can't wait to capture in more detail at the wedding!) Even though it was still really hot outside, Portia was a great sport and we love the photos from this session.

For your formal bridal portraits, you always want to bring everything you are going to wear on your actual wedding day. We encourage you to have your hair and make up done by the same stylists you plan to have on your big day. Portia had a great crew with her and even a little cheerleader to keep her motivation up! We love these photos against an old brown barn. The color really made her flowers, dress, and highlights pop. The color was such a natural compliment to the woods at the plantation.

We found this bright white fence just outside the grounds of the plantation (partially because we were nervous about getting locked in). We were having so much fun on the shoot we almost lost track of time! This fence was such a great prop- the perfect height, the perfect color, and the perfect background while she posed in the street. Thanks again Portia and crew for making it such a great session and being a great sport in the heat and wilderness!

There are many photographers who can take good pictures. There are a few photographers who can take great pictures. No question that Deevo is one of the GREATS! I know that 20 years from now, when I look at my wedding pictures their beautiful work will effortlessly transport me back to the best day of my life.
