Getting the weather to cooperate for Emily and Andrew's hot air balloon ride engagement session
was somewhat of a challenge, but on the third attempt, we finally got it right! We're so glad they stuck it out and were able to take their first ever
balloon ride with Fusion and the team at Cool Springs Hot Air Balloon rides in Statesville, NC.
On to the main event! The weather was hot and sticky while we were up north of Charlotte shooting Emily and Andrew's engagement session, and when the hot air balloon was blown up it was all that much hotter. Emily and Andrew were huge troopers
trudging through the heat. We love this photo inside the balloon before take off! Once in the balloon, it's pretty tight quarters, but the view is
amazing. They say it feels like you're just barely gliding along.
The Cool Springs team timed the flight just right so that Emily and Andrew got some amazing views at sunset. While Emily, Andrew and Deevo were up in the balloon, MK stayed on the ground with Kristie as they attempted to follow the balloon's flight path. It's a complicated art, but with over 30 years of experience, we have to say the Cool Springs team knows exactly what they're doing! Way to go!
I am not going to lie, I love hot air balloon rides, but this one was a bit harrowing, and I lost my $200 paid of shades, we almost landed on the 77 freeway
in the middle of traffic and nearly took out Ms. Dawkins in her double-wide. In the end, we did land safely, thanks solely to the expertise flight
engineer and a little bit of luck. Thanks Emily, Andrew, and everyone at Cool Springs for an amazing engagement session! We couldn't have done
it without you and we can't wait to do it again! We'll see Emily and Andrew in just a few short weeks at their wedding in at the Uptown Mint Museum.
