The thing I love most about destination engagement photography is you never quite know where the adventure will lead you. Everything starts out with a grand plan to do this or that or another - but there are so many factors that can altogether direct the direction of the photography session that the one thing I have learned with destination wedding photography or destination elopements is be flexible.
It was -4 degrees in NYC when we started this session. If you have never photographed in -4 degree weather you are in for a treat.
Elleana and Jason grew up together in Long Island. They went to school together, their families have known each other most of their lives.
They wanted to recreate a photo session that was reminiscent of their lives growing up in New York. So we all put our heads together and
came up with a photography plan that would incorporate parts of where they currently live - New Jersey and part of the New York City, where they
spend a lot of their time. We rode the subway, we rode the Uber, we had coffee at one of their favorite dives, we visited the train station
because Jason loves trains. The session was perfect.
I love that destination engagements encapsulate the things that matter most for two lovers. Two people, madly in love, enjoying a part of themselves that they love the most and just really good, intimate photography that makes everyone smile - and it's phenomenal when nature plays along and creates a magical day like this turned out to be.
I can't wait for their wedding day in October.
