Kristi and Daniel are our online superstars that met through digital cupid Match.com. In fact they are actually our third couple this year that found love through the online love superstore. They held their first date at Firebird's in Ballantyne, one of my favorite local eateries, their seared Ahi Tuna with spicy pecans and mustard sauce is to die for but that's for another blog :). Apparently, Kristi and Daniel think Firebird's is the cat's pajamas because this has become their personal hot spot and they celebrate each milestone moment in their life at Firebird's (first home, engagement, when they hired Fusion (ok I threw that one in inconspicuously).
When Kristi first met Daniel, she was blown away by his warm smile and "kind eyes". In her words, "he was so kind and outgoing and positive that it was contagious." After meeting with Daniel, I heartily agree. Daniel was less particular in his response and summed it up with "love at first sight" and "I loved everything about Kristi, she has the most precisou eyes, beautiful voice and the sweetest most bubbly personality, I could not wait to see her again". Like I said, LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT :)
Fast forward a year - for the proposal, they were agreed to meet at their newly purchased home together to "check out some of the last few changes they made before they moved in". Daniel arrived first, and when Kristi walked in the door, there he was on his knee with the ring in his hand. Kristi: "It was incredible - I said YES!"
Kristi originally hails from NC, but was raised in Florida and Daniel was born and raised in Venezuela and moved to America for work. They make their home in Ballantyne.
Their wedding was a very romantic affair, with only their closest friends and family in attendance and the Ceremony and the Reception were both held at

Kristi and Daniel's wedding was elegantly decorated with candle votifs that lined the aisle and with flower petals adorned on the ground around them from

The ceremony was held at dusk with candlelight only, Kristi and Daniel wanted the most romantic feeling possible and preferred simplicity over everything. They just wanted to celebrate their love and felt candle light was the appropriate mood to set the scene. As photographer's I would be lying if said this was not a challenge, but as with any endeavor we take on, it was our job to present the best possible photographs we could. So we incorporated a few off-camera flashes and triggered them wirelessly and utilized a constant strobe for key points during the ceremony. Otherwise, everything was photographed in ambient light and I feel like we pulled it off.
I know I say this about all my clients, but it's true, I really do love the folks I get to work with. What's so special about it, among many other things is I get the chance to learn so much about them through the wedding photography process. From the initial wedding photography consult where I first learn how they met and why they fell in love with each other. Then, later having the opportunity to see this first hand during the engagement photography session. I get to see observe first hand all the subtleties and nuances that make up who they are as a couple. Finally, on the actual wedding day, surrounded by their closest friends and family, I am witness to one of the most important moments to date in their young lives. It really is an emotional and organically special journey, and seeing it all come to fruition is what is most rewarding for me as a wedding photographer.
Kristi and Daniel are no exception. Their tender lover and emotional feelings for each other come through in every interaction.
I love how Kristi is amused with a recent message, most likely from Daniel while her bridesmaids look on.
Watching Daniel and his dad struggle with the bow tie was both entertaining and photogenic.
Kristi and Daniel exchanged wedding day gifts while they were getting ready, and this moment proved to be a tear-jerker for Kristi
I lined up the dresses to take a photograph, and caught Kristi taking them all in.
I got teary-eyed for this special moment when Kristi fully dressed, appeared before her mom for the first time and both were in tears.
Special thanks to all the AMAZING vendors that were also part of this loving celebration:Jewelry and Rings: Tiffany's South Park
