When I moved to Charlotte from sunny SoCal, I was excited to introduce Bridal Boudoir Photography to the South. I had been photographing boudoir for a few years already with the much more liberated women of California and my research showed that very few photographers or women were photographing boudoir in the south. Apparently the idea had not yet fomented with women and brides about how sexy, empowering and wonderful a bridal boudoir photography experience could be.
According to Knot magazine, and other wedding industry resource leaders, Bridal Boudoir photography was the leading gift women gave their soon to be husband. So clearly the idea is catching on.
For me, bridal boudoir photography should of course showcase the bride, her dress, her garter and all the accoutrements of her wedding, yes - but it can also be soooo much more. Why not throw in a few different wardrobe collections with a saucy little neglige, maybe his/her favorite dress shirt or sports team. Go after a theme that showcases you and your personality and your relationship with your soon to be spouse.
Most of my clients come to the initial consult scared out of their trousers, I love this simple fact. Because then it gives me nowhere to go but up to impress them. They leave wowed at the experience. Empowered and feeling super sexy. Most of my bridal boudoir photography clients use the opportunity to go out on the town with their soon to be spouse because they spent the day getting pampered. Hair and Makeup is included in our sessions. Champagne and Mimosa’s are encouraged. We have fun during our boudoir. We push the bubble and we always create amazing centerfold bridal boudoir photographs that leave our clients breathless.
Oh and who says boudoir hs to be confined to the bedroom. We use abandoned warehouses. Pools. Boats. Lakes. Forests. Sexy can be found anywhere and everywhere. One just has to be creative and in tune with what the client is looking for.
Back to the gift part - what better way to surprise your partner/spouse than a gift in the form of an album - of you, all sexy wit yo bad self!?
Below are some sample images and ideas for gifting your spouse with Bridal Boudoir Photography.
- Bring the album along with you and surprise them on the first night of the honeymoon. Dressed (or not) in the same outfit you wore on the first page of your album
- Have your album or custom crafted heirloom artwork delivered to them just before the ceremony with a saucy little note. Imagine their look as you walk down the aisle to greet them after that little serenade (wink)
