8 Reasons why a destination wedding is more fun than a traditional wedding

Why a destination wedding is more fun than a traditional wedding
More and more people are choosing exotic locations for their wedding. It's easy to see why, too. Everyone loves a vacation and everyone loves vacations, so combining the two creates a beautiful experience for the happy couple and the people attending the wedding. The celebration will go on for days for everyone. If you're not convinced yet, here are some wonderful reasons why an exotic wedding could be the best choice for you and your spouse.

1. More intimate
Less people can go to a destination wedding. It requires time and the resources to afford a vacation. The smaller gathering can actually be much more appealing. You get to keep your wedding party intimate and only have the people you truly want there. Big weddings with a lot of people in attendance can distract you from the romance of the situation and make you focus on the guests and wedding planning. You can always send everyone a postcard and hope that they send a gift! Many people who are interested in elopement also consider exotic weddings for the reason that they can make the experience more intimate.

2. Gorgeous scenery
You simply won't be able to match the scenery you will get from a destination wedding with a local wedding. It's one of the biggest reasons why people opt for a destination wedding. You'll have plenty of photo opportunities before and after your wedding, too. Bring the camera with you everywhere- not just the day of the wedding.

3. Lifelong memories for everyone involved
When you talk about your wedding, you will remember the entire vacation. So will everyone else who was there with you! This isn't just a memorable time for you and your spouse, but everyone involved will remember their trip to see you get married. While it may be you and your significant other's special day, it's a special time for all.

4. Built-in honeymoon
A wedding in an exotic location gives you the benefit of having your wedding and your honeymoon at the same time. You were going to go on a honeymoon anyway, right? Why not bring the friends and family along? If you want your privacy, you can always stay in your hotel suite for a night or two to enjoy married life. You can even have people leave after the wedding ceremony is over to have a day or two by yourself.

5. Less stress
When you're on a beach in Mexico or the Caribbean, you won't have the same stress as a traditional wedding. Many resorts are prepared to take care of most of the details for you. The guest list is much smaller meaning that you have less people to worry about. The ceremony is usually much more causal, too. The clothes are much less formal for you and the guests. You also won't have to worry about decorations in such a beautiful location. Nature will take care of the decorations for you. Finally, the accommodations are already taken care of. No need for dding when everyone can simply walk to their hotel room after the reception.

6. More cost-effective
Traditional weddings have details that add up extremely quickly. Believe it or not, an elopement in a remote location actually ends up costing significantly less if the guests cover their own airfare and accommodations. You and your guests can even ask the resort if they offer group rates to make things as inexpensive as possible for everyone. You will spend less money on the ceremony because you will have less people to feed and entertain.

7. Many options
While many weddings in far-away locations are on a beach, you have so many more options available to you. Beaches are different all over the world, and you can choose the one that's most appealing to you and your future spouse. Of course, it doesn't have to take place on a beach. You can also choose a snowy mountain in Canada, an igloo in Iceland, a vineyard in Italy, a castle in Germany, or a chapel in Las Vegas. You aren't limited to a certain climate or season since you have the world at your disposal. Be creative and be sure to include important people in on the decision-making process.

8. Celebration!
Everyone is in a mood to celebrate on vacation! Your wedding will definitely be a time to remember because everyone will be celebrating for days. It's completely fine to have a couple of drinks and enjoy the nightlife while you're on vacation, and you won't have to worry about dding. People will be planning to take a cab or simply enjoy their time on the resort. Everyone will be safe and happy while you celebrate until the vacation is over. You'll likely have stories that you'll share with your spouse and your friends for a lifetime.

We felt extremely lucky to have Fusion shoot our wedding and engagement session. My wife and I had never been professionally photographed before and so we were probably a little awkward at first, but the Fusion team made us feel comfortable in a hurry.
